A small note, before the day arrives

Build something from nothing.

In the near future, we are going to virtually sit down together and make something that did not exist before, exist. I don't really know what I'm doing, but Claude does. Two things before that day.

Think of something you'd want to build.

Something small enough to fit in an afternoon. Could be silly and fun, could be real enough that you'd actually want to show someone the link when it's done. Could be both. Could be neither.

No pressure to force an answer or idea. Bring whatever you'd like, even if it's still a little fuzzy. Or bring nothing. That's good too.

Prepare the machine for magic.

Claude's gears work best in a well oiled machine. Make sure your Mac is updated to the latest OS. System settings → Software Update → "Your Mac is up to date" is the secret password.

A Claude Pro plan is also needed, upgrade from the free plan if not already done.

What we're actually doing that day

Building something from nothing, and putting it on the actual internet.

The agenda, ish
1
Wake the machine up, get the gears spinning
~20 min
2
A short, possibly unnecessary conversation about how any of this works
~10 min
3
Build your project a home — a folder, a name
~10 min
4
The actual building, the fun part
~1 hour
5
Send it out into the world
~15 min
6
Stand back. Look at what you made. Celebrate.
~5 min
Optional pre-work
Should the mood strike you. We can do this together, too.

What to bring
The essentials, nothing more.
Your laptop & its charger
Your favorite beverage
Maybe an idea of what we build
One thing worth knowing before we start: our measure of success is joy.
